Work Ready Mentoring Program
Our flagship mentoring program aims to help professional migrant women find their first job in Australia.
- Eligibility criteria:
To be eligible for our mentoring program, you must:
- Identify yourself as a woman.
- Identify yourself as a migrant, regardless of residency or citizenship status.
- Be ready to apply for professional jobs in Australia.
- This program includes:
1 x Foundational session
- Introduction to the concepts, methodology, and tasks of the program.
- Meeting your team and group leader.
- Face to face at the Queen Victoria Women’s Center, Melbourne CBD
9 x Mentoring sessions for Professional Migrant Women
- Weekly, 1.5-hour mentoring sessions help you develop employment skills in a culturally relevant and peer-supported context. This program provides hands-on experience and direct contact with different industry specialists. You’ll receive individualised, timely, and constructive feedback from our mentors and collaborators during the program that will help you improve your skills and confidence.
- Meet from anywhere via Zoom.
PMW Academy
- Weekly, self-paced lessons with instructional videos and weekly task.
- Complete your weekly task before each live session
CV and cover letter review
- Create your CV and Cover letter using the templates included in our employment toolkit with insightful information. Then one of our team members will review your documents with you, ensuring that you learn the process
Networking Opportunities
- Participate in our face-to-face and online events
- Time commitment:
Weekly, 2-hour evening sessions during 10 weeks.
2-4 hours weekly independent, self-paced work and networking time.
- Program fees:
One-off admin fees
$250 Early bird, (Before the 28 August 2024)
$350 regular fee, until the program starts
- Program intake:
We run three programs per year, starting in February, June and September.
- How to apply:
- Applications are open one month before the beginning of each term
- Admin fees must be paid in full before the beginning of the term after applications have been assessed and invitations have been sent to eligible participants.
