Professional Migrant Women was born from a deeply personal experience.
When Fabiola Campbell migrated to Australia from Venezuela at the age of 27, she arrived as a confident and independent professional. Yet like many migrant women, she soon faced an unexpected challenge: the loss of professional identity, networks, and visibility.
The transition was not only practical but deeply emotional. Fabiola describes this period as the “death of the superwoman,” a time when many migrant women quietly mourn the loss of the life and professional recognition they once had.
Through this experience, she began connecting with other migrant women who were navigating similar challenges. Again and again she heard stories of brilliant professionals struggling to rebuild careers, confidence, and networks in a new country.
In 2019, Fabiola founded Professional Migrant Women with a clear purpose: to create spaces where migrant women feel seen, supported, and empowered to step back into their professional power.
What started as a small community has grown into a national network connecting thousands of migrant women across Australia through events, leadership programs, and professional development initiatives.
Today, PMW is helping change the narrative of migrant women in Australia from invisible talent to visible leadership.
